July One Monthly Goal

What will be your goal this month?

New to One Monthly Goal?  Welcome!  To join, share a photo of your project plus some words about what you want to accomplish in a blog post or Instagram post and add that photo to the link up.  Return at the end of the month and share your results.  (Results link up opens for the last 7 days of the month.)

Patty at Elm Street Quilts and I are co-hosting  One Monthly Goal. You can link up at either of our blogs and your project will show in the same link party!

July is my birthday month, so I usually try to give myself little treats in the form of working on whatever I feel like and/or some new fabric. Here are some things I'd like to work on. You'll notice several of them are new.  These are all calling my name every time I enter my sewing room. In clockwise order from the top are the following projects.

    1. Betty. This project is from Just Two Charm Pack Quilts by Cheryl Brickey
    2. Indiana shop hop kit
    3. Dinosaur baby quilt
    4. Jungle baby quilt
    5. Under the Sea. This one needs to be re-quilted. I quilted it several years ago and didn't like it. I spent quite some time over the winter ripping out the stitching and it's waiting for a turn to try again.
    6. (In the center) The border units for Grassy Creek. I'd really like to get this finished. However, I am somewhat superstitious and whenever I've selected this as a goal in the past, things seem to have gone sideways. So I don't want to jinx myself. But it needs to be done. I am planning to do a half-day guild sewing day this month and plan to bring this one.
My official goal this month is to finish piecing the top of the Betty quilt. I have two blocks completed so far, which leaves 18 blocks and the setting to go.
Let's see if I can stay on task and get it done or if the lure of a new project will win out. Also, I just noticed that the block on the right has one fabric clearly turned a different direction, so I'll need to fix that too. :)

The One Monthly Goal accomplishment link up will be available on July 25.  Make sure you add a link to this OMG post so others can find the OMG link up from your blog--just paste this link into your post:

  1. Happy birthday! You have some beautiful projects there, and I hope to see your completion for the one you've selected as top priority.

  2. As I was reading I was so afraid you were going to say that your machine was damaged by the storm. So glad that's not the case! Lightening hit my computer a number of years ago and I lost it (though thankfully the damage didn't reach the hard drive). It's hard when we have to plan so carefully to be able to sew between storms.
    Happy Birthday!
