November One Monthly Goal

My regular blog post for this week will be published on November 2. I'll be sharing a recent finish with a bit of a backstory, amongst other things.

Can you believe we're already at November!?

New to One Monthly Goal?  Welcome!  To join, share a photo of your project plus some words about what you want to accomplish in a blog post or Instagram post and add that photo to the link up.  Return at the end of the month and share your results.  (Results link up opens for the last 7 days of the month.)

This month I am torn between a few projects that I'd like to advance.

I have 17 blocks left to finish for my Log Cabin Stars quilt. Plus joining all the blocks into a quilt top. I'm not concerned with quilting it right now because I don't have anything set aside that would work as backing. I used up most of the fabrics in the quilt while making the front, so I don't think I have enough remaining to piece a back.

I would really like to finish off the Grassy Creek quilt top. I still need to piece half of the border units. After that I will need to join and attach them to the rest of the quilt top. I do have backing fabric set aside for this quilt--almost a full bolt! If I remember correctly, I need nine yards to make a backing. I also have a good idea of how I will quilt it. I'm hoping I have enough fabric set aside for binding. I can't even remember at this point. I started this quilt in 2020.

The other project that I really want to tackle is my dress form.  Maybe if I get caught up enough with the other things in my life, I could work on this over Thanksgiving weekend. My husband has created 3D printed parts to adapt the stand we bought to fit the pipe that goes inside the form. I do need him to cut the pipe to the correct length prior to sewing the internal parts of the dress form. We are using pipe left over from the lighting he made for my long arm.

My official OMG this month is to piece the remaining 17 blocks of the Log Cabin Stars quilt.

Now it's your turn to set a goal.

The One Monthly Goal accomplishment link up will be available on November 24.  Make sure you add a link to this OMG post so others can find the OMG link up from your blog--just paste this link into your post:
